Construction Industry Development Board
The Construction Registration Service provides the development framework to achieve real industry growth, meaningful empowerment, improved delivery, capacity and performance.
CIDB grades and categorizes contractors according to their work and financial position. Contractors must register with CIDB in order to apply for contracts in the public sector.
Contractors must apply for the class of works in which they are capable of performing.
When applying a contractor will have to provide proof of Annual Turnover and proof of contracts previously completed unless they are applying for first grade.
There are nine levels to qualify for. These indicate the size of contracts the contractor is being considered for.
|Grade||Maximum Contract Value|
|1||R 200 000,00|
|2||R 500 000,00|
|3||R 1 500 000,00|
|4||R 3 000 000,00|
|5||R 5 000 000,00|
